Mastermind Group and RSR

I am pleased and fortunate to be included in a "Mastermind Group" led by Jeff Green, an elite performance specialist out of Birmingham.

The Mastermind group is a group of 12 specialists that possess a variety of interests and methods in the field of Health and Fitness. We will gather at a central location to discuss the development of new methods and ideas to better the state of health in Alabama and beyond. I will post more detail after our initial meeting in June.

On a personal note.... the Russian Squat Regimen applied to the Deadlift

I will begin the 3rd week of the 6 week RSR/strength program. I can definitely feel the strength gains and am accelerating beyond the gains from the pre RSR program. Yesterday (Saturday) my legs were very heavy after 6 X 5 @ 80% and sledge and flips on Friday, yet I turned in my best performance in my Saturday Strength Endurance Circuit.

I wish all moms a very Happy Mothers Day

  1. This like a good thing for you. Hopefully the group will help get AL fit. I just found out that San An is one of the five fattest cities in TX, which in turn are five of the to ten fattest in the country. Ouch!

Retired life is fun so far. Much less stressful, which explains the fact that I'm under 220 for the first time in 5 years (never made it that low in AL). Eating less comfort foods and more veggies.

Training-wise, I'm using kettlebell stuff as assistance exercises on the 531 program and expecting to hit 365 in the DL my next max attempt (late June/early Jul). My max from your place was 355 once.

I start back to grad school on the way to a History Phd on 8 Jul.

    Hope all is well.

  2. Montgomery was #1 on that list. Do you remember when we could smell the heart disease brewing at Krystals before the 5AM workout?

Congrats on the weight goal...remember it is all in the diet, you are someone that will get the activity. Constant variety always works best for me; with exercise anyway.

Congrats on the acceptance to grad school. This is an exciting time for you...almost like you are 22 again and straight out of the Academy!
